Digital marketing was the top of the bill at the first ever Sitecore user group in Birmingham this week. The event was held at he Studio in Birmingham City centre where people had the opportunity to network with other digital marketing folk and Sitecore users alike.
The evening saw two informative presentations from two expert speakers on all things digital.
First to take to the floor was Paul Fennemore, Digital C Suite Level Digital Marketing and Customer Experience Consultant at Sitecore. He spoke about agile marketing – what it is, why it is important and how do you become agile in your approach.
Next to present was Dominic Hurst, who leads digital service at Liverpool John Moores University. He spoke about how to get started with web personalisation and drew upon examples of his working career using the Sitecore Experience Platform in his current role.
Both presentation were impressive and sparked some great questions from the audience and the conversations and engagement within the room flowed.
This new more central location with in the UK will join the already well-attended and hugely valuable Sitecore user groups in London and in Manchester. This group aims to cover a more general digital transformation and marketing agenda, so is open to a wider audience, regardless of whether you use the Sitecore Experience Platform, are considering it or otherwise.
If you are a programmer, marketer, content author, CMS user, community manager or just interested in digital and experience, everyone is welcome. That was certainly the theme of the evening this week – a great mix of people, sharing experiences, learning new things and talking digital, plus free food and drinks.
