    Folder permissions

    Hi

Can you confirm the required folder permissions.  We've copied an installation from one server to another (and deleted the original) and although the shop works the admin interface is complaining about the licence. I suspect it is caused by folder permissions.

The most clamped down set up requires:

All folders should have read access except for the \shops\ folder which requires create directory permission and the \shops\Assets folder which requires read/write permissions.

Post back if you are still having issues. did you remember to set up the app-pool user to have permissions on the new web folder (bearing in mind that only the build in groups and users have well known sids)

    Cheers,
    Rob

    Re: Folder permissions

    Hi

Okay done that.  I also checked the AppPool and that all looks okay.  I'm still getting the 'You have exceeded your license quota, please buy more item licenses' message.  I only have 11 products setup.

Any ideas - I will try just re-applying the license (guess I should have tried that before posting)...apologies.

Is the license keyed to a MachineName?

The license is not affected by machine name, this is a little puzzling have you restarted the website since adding the license?

    Re: Folder permissions

No I hadn't.  However I have just decided to start afresh.  We had other issues just with CS itself which while we got it working nobody could tell me how.

I'm getting the whole site re-done from scratch so we'll install the shop again - from scratch.

Our issue seems to be centred around the fact that anonymous browsing of the site presents the 'IUSR_...' credentials through to SQL Server rather then the asp.net one.  I have a vague recollection that the asp.net user is something to do with IIS5 but I'm past caring.  This site was supposed to be online by now.

Thanks once again though for your extremely excellent support!

Okay, just to close this thread.  Basically setup a new CS Installation, a fresh install of your software and then re-pointed the site to the original database and everything works as it did.
